Yoga for Warriors

Yoga for Warriors is a class designed for veterans, active duty military, and first responders; the people who spend their lives showing up for everyone else. Using the tools of breath, movement, and mindfulness, this class helps you sleep better, manage chronic pain, and feel stronger in body and mind.
FREE for veterans, active duty & first responders (donations welcome).
Open to the general public.
What to expect in class:
Classes will utilize slow, mindful movements and breathing techniques to create a sense of stability and security.
You do not have to have any prior yoga experience - if you can breathe, you can practice yoga! All clothes are yoga clothes - wear whatever you are comfortable moving and stretching in. Yoga is often practiced in bare feet or socks; you may leave your shoes on if you prefer. You can practice from a chair or on a mat.

Fall Equinox Yoga in the Arboretum Woodward Park
Join us as we honor the turning of the seasons with an all-levels, Fall Equinox yoga class on Sunday, September 20, from 10:00–11:00 a.m.
We'll be practicing among the trees in the Woodward Park Arboretum, weather permitting; if the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll move indoors to the Helmerich Classroom. All levels and experience are welcome.
Members $10, non-members $15.
Pre-registration is preferred, but drop-ins are always welcome.
This public class is offered in partnership with Tulsa Garden Center, and it’s our mission to help individuals become healthier, stronger, and more balanced, in body, mind, and heart, through the evidence-based, unifying mind-body practices of breath, yoga, and mindfulness. Beyond the mat, HWC does the deeper work of building community: creating safe, welcoming spaces where people can reflect, grow, and connect with one another. Every class is an invitation not just to move and breathe together, but to be part of something larger, a collective rooted in humility, purpose, and genuine connection.
Sunset Stretch & Sound Bath
Come to breathe, receive an hour of gentle stretch ending with a sound bath at the top of the Tandy Floral Terraces, in the centering space above the cascading waterfalls. Watch the August sun setting over the Garden and through the Osage Hills as you mindfully meander your way home.
All levels welcome; no experience needed.
Bring a mat or towel & water.
Arrive a few minutes early to settle in.

Sunset Yoga & Sound Bath
Ease into the golden hour with a gentle, reflective yoga session hosted at the Tulsa Botanic Garden. Enjoy the magical tapestry of a summer sunset over the Osage Hills. Humble Warrior Collective Executive Director Kendra Guthrie will lead this yoga session and will be joined by Hannah Demuth of High Vibrations Co.
Class will be held outdoors in the Garden, weather permitting. We will embrace the energy of the setting sun with calming, grounding poses, gentle breathwork, and sound bath meditation to invite a sense of peace and connection with nature.

Bends & Blooms Morning Yoga
Join us for a special morning Yoga session at the Garden
Join other members and friends for a special morning yoga session set amidst the Garden's beautiful seasonal blooms (...think Downdog with the Daffodils!). This energizing class will incorporate gentle flow movements that synchronize with the rhythms of the surrounding environment, enhancing mindfulness and an appreciation of the Botanical Garden’s beautiful flora.
This class will be held OUTDOORS, in one of the Garden's most scenic and memorable locations - the top of the Tandy Terraces. After the yoga session, guests are invited to enjoy the splendor of the Garden's BLOOMS fest.
Tulsa Botanic Garden members are FREE!! Non-Members may purchase tickets for $30.
Workshop will be located at the Tulsa Botanic Garden, at the top of the Tandy Terraces.

Earth Element is Sundara’s TIYT™ Level 1 training and covers Trauma Informed Yoga teaching principles for general population Yoga classes. We cap our trainings so we can get to know our future colleauges – we are a Collective and community is very important to us – because of the limited space, our trainings book up in advance, so please register early.
Sundara Yoga Therapy adheres to SAMHSA’s standards in Trauma Informed Care. Our course content is structured to fulfill the nationally recognized principles of trauma informed care as defined by SAMHSA.

The Bloom Event
Join us for a spring celebration with live music, spoken word & poetry inspired by movement, soul, hope & joy. This is a fun opportunity to be a champion of a great cause, supporting Humble Warrior Collective mindfulness and movement programs across Oklahoma.
Our picnic style event will be held at the Hailey Chapel, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater at the Herman & Kate Kaiser YMCA.
Tickets include fresh juice beverage, hor d'oeuvres, and entertainment.

Safe and social distanced evening of comedy and story telling in the natural setting of Turkey Mountain.
Yoga In Action
Yoga In Action is influenced by yoga philosophy and social justice principles that call for connection, truth, and liberation for all. In this workshop, you will use yoga, mindfulness, and self-inquiry tools to observe your own patterns and the systems in the world around us that negatively impact others so that you can grow personally and create a positive impact on the world around you. You will learn self-regulation tools and how to practice regulation to build resilience and support positive community growth and transformation.
Define conscious activism.
Identify what cause is important to you and how best to pursue action to create an impact in your life and community
Develop self-care routines to sustain your personal energy and activism
Cultivate practices to encourage nonviolent personal and interpersonal interactions
Create a community with your cohort that will provide long term support for personal activism
The cohort will meet virtually over four sessions. Each session will contain a movement practice, lecture and reflection, and group exercises. Prepare to spend additional time individually reviewing resources and journaling before each session.

About the facilitators:
Kendra Guthrie has been teaching yoga and mindfulness for six years, with a primary focus on trauma-informed principles and practices. Kendra endeavors to increase access to the valuable tools of yoga and mindfulness, while emphasizing self-inquiry, self-regulation, and empowerment. She loves teaching yoga and serving as the Research Coordinator for the Humble Warrior Collective.
Melissa Smith has been sharing yoga and movement practices for over a decade. She is an experienced trauma-informed yoga teacher whose goal is to cultivate and spread compassion through connection. Melissa feels called to make yoga accessible for everyone and is proud to serve as a teacher with Humble Warrior Collective.
