Yoga In Action

Yoga In Action is influenced by yoga philosophy and social justice principles that call for connection, truth, and liberation for all. In this workshop, you will use yoga, mindfulness, and self-inquiry tools to observe your own patterns and the systems in the world around us that negatively impact others so that you can grow personally and create a positive impact on the world around you. You will learn self-regulation tools and how to practice regulation to build resilience and support positive community growth and transformation.

  • Define conscious activism.

  • Identify what cause is important to you and how best to pursue action to create an impact in your life and community

  • Develop self-care routines to sustain your personal energy and activism

  • Cultivate practices to encourage nonviolent personal and interpersonal interactions

  • Create a community with your cohort that will provide long term support for personal activism

The cohort will meet virtually over four sessions. Each session will contain a movement practice, lecture and reflection, and group exercises. Prepare to spend additional time individually reviewing resources and journaling before each session.
